LEADERSHIP & VISION
The vision of MedSckool Reviews is carried through by the ongoing efforts of Mark Mauleesan; a hardworking, honest, caring and published Canadian businessmen, who was educated in the USA but calls Toronto, home. Dr. Mark is a serial social entrepreneur, businessman and medical graduate, holding both an MD (from ASUSM) and MBA (from the Ivey Business School in London Ontario) who has a strong desire to help others learn and succeed in areas where he too shares a personal interest. He is also an associate member with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
Having worked in medical education directly, as both a faculty lecturer and assistant registrar for a large Caribbean medical school, Dr. Mark understands both the business and academic aspects of medical education. During his tenure, he has reviewed, advised and assisted medical students and graduates with the application process including personal statement aid. With his prior experiences managing 5 other successful business ventures and having been featured in nearly a dozen media outlets and publications, Dr. Mark brings a superior level of business acumen and ethics to the world of medical education, building and crafting the MedSckool Reviews program to offer it's students value, feasibility, and an overall sense of accomplishment.
He is also currently an Entrepreneur-In-Residence (EIR), faculty advisor and guest lecturer/speaker at the Ivey Business School (Ranked #1 in Canada by Bloomberg and The Economist), speaking to business students at all levels about entrepreneurship, edtech, disruption and medtech.
Born to immigrant parents, but having been raised his whole life in Canada, Dr. Mark also has a strong attachment to other foreign-trained medical graduates. Having realized that many struggle financially, emotionally and psychologically to "get into the system", he channels his passion and sense of obligation to help others succeed. Dr. Mark is married with two children and in his spare time, you'll find him playing with his kids, reading or working away on his laptop.
