"The MCCQE1 is a tricky exam, especially for IMGs. Because we didn't go to medical school in this country, we don't have the same access to the clinical and medical knowledge that's being tested. So when studying, cunning planning needs to be in place. Unfortunately, the council does not allow or provide too many offline OR online resources for IMG candidates. Additionally, the available Qbanks are vague and not designed to address what the test truly demands. I don't think that any book or website can prepare you for this exam the way that this review did. I heard about MedSckool Reviews from a couple of friends at my school (and other Caribbean medical schools), but I didn’t really learn about it until I search them online. I initially thought the review course would be very organized & informative. I was prepared for an intensive-style review. I also thought there was going to be a lot of didactic lectures and review material provided. I seriously loved that my impression changed because the best part about this prep course was the laid back, informal and interactive nature of the program. Initially, my impression from what I gathered on the website was that this was a well-structured program geared mostly at IMGs. I was impressed with the testimonials, and as the timing suited me very well for my exams, I was more inclined to join a prep program. Overall, I have learned and re-learned a lot of material in the last 12 days. The structure of the lectures was good. I’m mentally exhausted, but overall, this was a good, high yield course which covered material pertinent to the QE1. This was an intense, but well-worth-it 12 days of QE1 review. The topics covered are the most important and high yield for the QE1 exam. Meeting people from all over the world was really nice and being able to share personal experiences throughout medical school, clinical work and applications lets us know that we’re not alone in this process. I would happily take another MedSckool course in the future and recommend it to any IMG. Thanks to Dr. Mark and his team for an intense, but fun, 12 days!

Before I took MedSckool Reviews, I was all over the place; not knowing what to study and it was overwhelming. I ended up wasting a lot of time studying irrelevant material. I took the QE1 review after a friend of mine took it and did well in his exams (and is currently practicing in Canada). His recommendation was what drew me to MedSckool Reviews. He had already told me what to expect, so I was somewhat prepared to hit the ground running from the first day of class. But he was wrong. The QE1 class was much better than what he had told me. It was a very helpful and well-organized course. The materials and lectures were on point and exam-oriented. Overall, I found it to be a really enjoyable experience. It helped me understand how to approach the QE1 exam because they use the Medical Council’s objectives to teach and their materials are up-to-date with what Canadian medical schools are teaching.  My friend told me about MedSckool Reviews. I was actually attending another review on the west end of the city, which I wasn’t too impressed with at the time.
