Thank You
for showing an interest in becoming a Standardized Patient with MedSckool!
If you're not familiar with us, we are a review and prep centre in the GTA that offers Crash Course -style reviews for the various Canadian & American medical licensing examinations to help canadian and international medical graduates looking to apply for post-graduate training positions within Canada.

Our Crash Course Reviews at medskule.com will be implementing simulated patient encounters in 2014 and therefore, we are actively looking to fill a roster of individuals to portray standardized patients to help with our some of our crash course reviews.

General Information

WHAT IS A STANDARDIZED PATIENT?
A standardized patient is a person who portrays a patient in a simulated environment. Standardized patients role-play or use their own medical history for teaching and testing of clinical skills for health sciences learners. During interactions with a learner, the standardized patient responds to questions by the student and, in some cases, undergoes specific physical examinations. Each standardized patient encounter is designed to teach or assess skills appropriate to the student’s level of training. The word "standardized" means that the standardized patient repeats his or her story in a consistent manner to numerous students. (SPECIFIC TRAINING MATERIAL WILL BE PROVIDED IF YOU ARE SELECTED)

As a SP with MedSckool, if your services are needed, we will call upon you anywhere from once to four times in any given month. If you do your research, you will quickly realize that SP generally get anywhere from $15-20/hr for their work but we like to take care of our own!

Compensation: $20/hr.
Work Hours: 4-8 hrs/wk (occasional/on-call basis)
* Depending on supply and demand, you may only work 4 hours one month, then 20 hours the next and maybe no hours the following month. But we are hoping to have some consistency soon. Nonetheless, we would like to be fully transparent with you before you decide to consider joining us at medskule.com

If we select you, you will be asked to come in for an information session where your specific role will be discussed and rehearsed so that you are ready to "act" when we need you!

If you would like to be considered, please fill out the application form below and we'll get in touch with you shortly! Thank you in advance!

This should only take 2-5 minutes but don't worry; if we select you, there will not be any "interviews" after.
That's what this application form is for.

Please be aware that submission of application does not constitute an offer of employment; Applicants may be contacted and invited to an informational session.
Please note: Communications will be solely through email. If you are selected to be an SP you will hear back from us within 2 weeks.
